Floral Fever

Florals in Spring can be a fashion cliche but it's a print that will always have a place in my heart. Bright, bold florals in particular do it for me so when I saw this jumpsuit on fdavenue.com I had to snap it up! It was around £27 and is so comfortable. Last Saturday I wore it for my friend's birthday meal at Wildwood with a Matalan blazer that I got last summer and my pink jelly shoes from New Look

I'm always on the lookout for any new websites that sell fashionable bargains so if any of you know of any good ones I'd love to hear from you!

Motel Rocks #MotelFestival Press Day

Motel Rocks has always been one of my favourite fashion brands. The love affair started a few years ago with a tribal print top which I still wear, to coveting pretty much the entire collection nowadays. So, as you can imagine I was in my element being surround by gorgeous pieces from the Autumn/Winter collection along with some stunning summer pieces. I definitely have my eye on some of them, including the pink two piece, white dress and metallic separates below

It felt like festival season had arrived early with fantastic performances from Them & Us, the Tuts and DJ Billie Porter, along with the popcorn and candy floss vendor and Malibu cocktails in red cups. (Very Coachella) I met some fashionable and friendly bloggers including Jabeen and Jessica (pictured below) and also caught up with some of my friends who I've met through blogging.

Palms & Pastels

I hope you all had a nice Easter break and enjoyed pigging out on chocolate. I didn't do anything exciting and today was the first chance I had to wear a bloggable outfit as the weather was nice and I met a friend for lunch. Often pastel shades are worn together or with white or metallics but I thought I'd put my own spin on them by teaming a lilac midi skirt (boohoo.com) with a palm tree print top from New Look (£17)

My sunglasses and jelly shoes (£15) are also both from New Look and the socks are from Topshop

Now, I'm just trying to enjoy the last of the bank holiday before returning to work tomorrow

Marathon Day 2014

Marathon day is one of my favourite days of the year as I always go out drinking with friends and almost everyone from the area I grew up in is out enjoying the atmosphere. It's also a bit of a fashion parade so outfit choices are crucial! I knew for a while that I'd be wearing this asos kimono which I got for £25 in the sale last year, so it's lucky that the weather was nice

My jeans were also a steal at £25 in the sale from Light Before Dark at Urban Outfitters and my top and sandals are from boohoo.com

Here I am with my friend Terri rocking my New Look shades! (Necklace from Ebay)

The dress I can't bear to part with

We all have that piece in our wardrobe that we haven't worn for years either because it no longer fits, we don't have an occasion for it or we're just not sure if we look that good in it anymore but for some reason, something stops us from getting rid of it, usually the hope that one day it will fit, there will be an occasion for it or we will feel good in it again.

For me, that piece is this draped, halter neck dress from Topshop. The last time I wore it I was skinny (maybe too skinny) and tanned (maybe too tanned) and the length verges on indecent but I used to feel great when I wore it. I love the flattering draping and how it shows off my back and shoulders. (Hence why I can only wear it with a tan)

I haven't tried it on for at least 3 years which is probably just aswell as I've put on at least a stone in weight since I last wore it. I'm not sure if I'll get to wear it again but year after year I take it out of one of my 'summer clothes' bags, take a few seconds to admire it, sigh and then hang it in my wardrobe until winter when it goes back into the summer bag!

I'm hoping that this year will be the year that I lose enough weight and find the right occasion to wear it again. I'm lucky enough to be going to a wedding in Italy at the end of August so maybe by then the gym visits would have paid off and I can wear it for dinner one night. Until then I can treasure the memories attached to it from nights out with my best friends when life was more carefree.

Gingham Girl

One of my favourite prints this season has to be gingham. There's something a bit country and western about it which appeals to my inner Dolly Parton. This cropped shirt from New Look (£17.99) that ties at the bottom makes me want to pull on my cowboy boots. (yes, I do still have a pair hidden away somewhere!) However, this weekend I went for a slightly tamer look and teamed it with pink trousers from next and a faux leather jacket from Missguided. I'm after a pair of chunky black trucker sandals that cost less than £30 but until I find those I settled for comfy ballet flats from next.

All dressed up with nowhere to go seems to be the story of my life at the moment so I need to start making more plans for Saturday afternoons. Ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Coral Queen

Coral is such a summery colour and although the weather hasn't been very summery recently, a splash of coral helps brighten up the grey days. I've purchased a few pieces in this hue recently including this jersey blazer, which was a steal at £20 from a local market. On Thursday it was mine and the boyfriend's four year anniversary so we went for a lovely Italian meal last night to celebrate. I have no idea how we've put up with eachother this long but when you bicker about silly things and take the mick out of eachother that's when you know it's true love!

Here I am with my new friends... They don't say much

I wore my new blazer with my favourite sandals from Boohoo.com, (£25) jeans from New Look and a shirt from Forever 21 both of which are from last summer. My necklace is from New Look

Sunday Stroll

During the day on Saturdays and Sundays my boyfriend and I often don't know what to do with ourselves and last Sunday was no exception. The day was even shorter than usual due to the clocks going forward and I woke up at 11.30! (I must have needed that extra sleep) I had to be home for a roast dinner by 4 (who would want to miss out on a Sunday roast?) so we didn't have much time! The solution was to go for a wander around Island Gardens which is on the Isle of Dogs, near where my boyfriend lives. The daffodils looked so pretty that I had to get a photo taken with them

I can see myself getting lots of wear out of this Dorothy Perkins pleated midi skirt (£22) this summer as it goes with so many of my tops and shirts and is suitable for both sunny and cloudy days. I wore it with a sleeveless shirt from ohmylove and my trusty, comfortable New Look sandals
