Shopping is my cardio

I may not have been to the gym for 6 months but I've certainly been doing a lot of shopping lately! At the beginning of every new season it's the same story; bulk buy all of my favourite trends then end up with no space for them. I need to spend a few hours putting stuff I no longer wear on ebay to make room for it all. Today I went to a local market with my friend Sarah and her neice followed by lunch at Nando's so I went for a comfortable but fashionable look

This T-shirt was only £10 from ebay and it sums me up perfectly! I wore it with my new high waisted acid wash jeans from Forever 21 which are so comfortable and were a steal at £20. I'd recommend Forever 21 for jeans as they're available in more varied sizes so you're more likely to find the perfect fit. My sandals are from Boohoo.com and I got my jacket online last summer. These pictures were taken when I went for a riverside walk this afternoon with ky boyfriend. I just hope this weather continues so I can wear some of my new purchases

Read My Lips

I love the mirror style print on these River Island trousers which I got in the sale for £15 earlier this year. The only downside is that they are slightly loose in the thigh area so look baggier than they should. They can be dressed up for work or a night out or dressed down with a sweatshirt which is what I did for a shopping trip yesterday. Please excuse the windswept hair, it was so windy yesterday! I've had the sweatshirt for years and it's by Illustrated People. It's one of those quirky pieces that can be worn season after season

I bought a few bright, summer pieces yesterday so I plan to blog about them sometime this week. Watch this space

Aspiring Jetsetter

This year I plan to jet off and get out of the UK around every 2 months providing I can afford it and get the time off work. I had such a lovely time in Spain visiting my grandparents and it was much warmer than I thought it would be. You can't beat the feeling of the sun on your skin and returning to the grey skies of England today gave me the holiday blues. I'm hoping to get out to Spain again in May, even if it's only for a long weekend and I'd also like to go there in November. Other than the people I love, getting away to different parts of Europe is what I live for at the moment! Hopefully next year I can go further afield and visit some parts of the world that are outside the EU.

Spain was so relaxing and I love being able to see the sea. Living in London it's not a sight that I see very often. Most days I sat in the garden or on the terrace but on the days we did go out I made an effort with my outfits and here are the results...

This floral midi skirt from Primark (£10) will be a staple piece this summer and I can see me getting lots of wear out of it as midis are my favourite skirt length and I love the print. My top is from next and the jelly shoes are from ebay but they are all over the high street this Spring.

One night we went for a meal in a Mexican restaurant called Amigos which was very tasty. I wore trousers from New Look with a lace top from Next and a floral bomber jacket from Boohoo. (past season) Printed bomber jackets are also everywhere at the moment.

Yesterday we had a late lunch in the sun at a place called Garden Bar which is a stones throw away from the beach. Bliss

This polkadot ensemble is one of my favourite combos for a sunny day. I bought both items last year from Primark (top) and New Look (skirt)

Home from Home

I am currently in sunny Southern Spain visiting my lovely grandparents and its one of the places where I feel happiest. I love seeing my grandparents who I usually only get to see twice a year, it's great to have a break from work and I love the sunshine. I fly back to England on Thursday but I'm trying to make the most of the weather and my freedom before I have to leave and face reality again. Although I'm in another country I feel at home in my grandparents cosy house and visiting shopping centres which boast high street favourites such as Zara, Mango and even Primark which I took advantage of today. Here is my mini Spanish Primark haul:

This pencil skirt can be worn for work or play and is a subtle take on the polkadot trend

This textured dress will look fab with a tan in the summer and can also been worn now with black tights for a monochrome 60s look

I've seen this cute unicorn sweatshirt on some other blogs and as soon as I felt the fabric I couldn't resist. It'll be perfect for traveling home on the plane to ward off the chilly air conditioning

This pretty floral dress was in the sale at €7 and I plan to wear it whilst I'm still here as we've certainly had the weather for it

I love pastels and this necklace is perfect to update a white shirt or a plain top or dress

I probably won't post again until I'm home now (unless I persuade my poor nan to take some pictures of me on my tablet so I can do an outfit post) so I hope you enjoyed my first post from abroad and I'll be back very soon.

Spring has Sprung

How gorgeous was the weather this weekend? It truly felt like Spring was on its way as the sun shone over London. Everyone flocked outside, filling up all the local parks, restaurants with Al Fresco seating and other outdoor spaces. As we haven't had Spring like weather in so long I was at a loss for what to wear and where to go! In the end I decided on salmon pink cigarette trousers from Topshop (£35) with my trusty Zara breton top which has been in my wardrobe for years and is so soft and comfortable. My pumps are from Next

I ended up going for a walk around Greenwich park followed by an alternative Sunday dinner at Nando's. What did you get up to over the sunny weekend?

Mid week mini break

Sometimes it's nice just to get out of London and breathe some fresh air so an overnight trip to Thame in Oxfordshire was a welcome break. Yesterday my boyfriend, my mum, her partner and I took the train from London and arrived in Thame at around 3pm. It's a really nice village with a wide selection of charity shops and the essentials such as supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug and an old fashioned sweet shop which we stocked up on supplies from. The hotel was quaint but cosy and well decorated and the dinner and breakfast were well cooked, using local produce. The only downside was that our room seemed to be in a noisy part of the hotel so I didn't get much sleep.

I went for a pastel theme with my outfits as you can see from the pictures below. The pink coat is from Topshop and is my favourite cover up at the moment as I just love the candy floss colour. The baby blue top and jumper, monochrome print trousers and the skinny jeans are all from New Look and the bag is from Dorothy Perkins.

Cosmic Girl

I've always been a fan of futuristic fashion and I love anything holographic; including shoes, bags, nails and clothes so it's definitely one of my favourite new season looks. A skirt and bag are on my payday wish list but at the moment I'm loving my pewter holographic buckled heels from boohoo.com (£35) They will see me through to Summer but can also be worn now with tights

I'm kind of a big deal...

When I saw this tongue in cheek slogan T-shirt in next I had to have it! I'm a fan of Anchorman where the catchphrase is taken from and it stands out from most of the other T-shirts emblazoned with phrases on the high street. At only £16 it's quite the bargain too. I can't wait to style this in a variety of ways come Spring.
