2013; My favourite outfits Part 2

So it's New Years Eve and for the first time in 7 years I'm not going out. I can't even toast to the new year at home with a glass of bubbly as I have such a bad cough that I don't think alcohol will help seeing as I can't even eat Twiglets without having a coughing fit. I'm suffering from a bit of FOMO as I'm not getting glammed up to go out and have a good time but New Years Eve is usually a let down anyway. Here is the second part of my favourite outfits of 2013 and looking at these pictures has actually reminded me that I haven't had a bad year when it comes to nights out and events such as festivals and concerts. I hope you all have a very Happy New Year however you are spending it

                                                                  July

Wireless was my first festival of the year and I wanted to go for a hippy vibe. The first thing I bought was the Crown & Glory headband and I built my headband around that. I got my dress and kimono from Ebay which is where I usually go if I'm looking for something particular rather than trawling through the shops. I swapped the New Look sandals for Converse so my feet didn't end up covered in dirt

Here I am at Lovebox which was also in July and it was a scorcher! I bared my thighs in shorts from Berksha, teamed with a new look top and waistcoat and asos hat. I'm not sure if I'm really a hat person but I'm definitely not a sun stroke person so I had no choice!

August

In August the autumn winter drops start to land in stores and I always like to be ahead of the game so here I am rocking a teal asos dress during summer. The fabric is quite fit and I did sweat a bit in the bar I went to that night but the sleeveless style helped

I wore this boohoo tartan pinafore dress for a blogger meet up where I met some lovely bloggers who I'm still in touch with now. I'm also wearing my trusty New Look flatforms and Topshop sunglasses

I love leopard print and think it is always stylish so this Mango number was an investment purchase despite being a bargain £35. I wore it for a school reunion which was a fun night

October

Pink has been the colour of the season and this Topshop top will also serve me well for Spring as Ice Cream shades are still in the limelight. My inner rock chick also loves a good pair of faux leather trousers and these were only £17 from Forever 21

I call this my high shine outfit and it's no problem if anyone spills a drink down me as this skirt is wipe clean! It was £18 from asos in the sale and the top was around £28 from River Island

November

I love this Topshop dress. It's such a simple cut but in a fab colour and it's really comfortable and flattering. It was £45 but it's another dress that I'll keep for years as I love it so much

Highland Fling

Now that Christmas is over the shops and magazines will soon be awash with Spring/Summer pieces but seeing as Spring is a long way off I'm clinging on to as many of the Autumn winter trends for as long as I can. The main trend I will still be rocking is tartan. As you know, I can't get enough of the stuff! In November my mum and her partner went to Edinburgh and one of my Christmas presents was a proper kilt which they bought there. It's slightly short but looks fine with tights and it's a piece that I'll keep in my wardrobe forever (fit permitting)

My snowflake jumper was a Christmas present from my boyfriend and is from asos and my cut out boots are from Linzi

I also wore my favourite tartan skirt from Forever 21 last weekend (below) with a sequinned top from River Island. (old) Like I said, I can't get enough of tartan!

Feeling Festive

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve! It really has crept up on us this year. Typically, I have some sort of virus which includes gifts such as a sore throat and achy body; just what I've always wanted but I still can't wait for tomorrow! Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love relaxing at home and spending time with my family and boyfriend. I finished work at 12 today, came home, put on my onesie then watched Home Alone and It's a Wonderful Life whilst wrapping presents. If that's not a perfect Christmas Eve (apart from the work part) I don't know what is. Anyway, on Friday night I went for festive drinks with some of my friends and we had such a good night laughing, dancing and singing. That, along with the special people in our lives is what Christmas is all about.

I dig out this sequinned number almost every year around Christmas time and I also have a gold version. It's by a brand called Rise and it cost £25 from Ebay back in 2007. That's what I call a bargain! My boots are from Linzi and my necklace is from New Look. It's sheer coincidence that I match the tree and presents, I promise.

Here I am with my friend Alison who also looks very Christmassy in her Santa hat. I hope you have a very enjoyable Christmas and a Happy New Year

2013; My Favourite Outfits, Part 1

As we're approaching the end of the year I thought it would be a good idea to look back at some of my favourite outfits from 2013. It's been a year of ups and downs, happiness and frustration, hard work and relaxation but whatever life throws at me I always try to look the part.

                                                                 January

I heart these Primark brocade trousers but sadly I can no longer fit into them and the pesky fastening just won't do up! I've had this Paraphase sequin blazer for years and my peplum top and shoes are from New Look.

April

Stripes and neon were big news in Spring and I loved this sunny combo. The blazer was a bargain £25 from Matalan and the jeans are from Forever 21

May

Holidays allow for a feminine, floaty look and despite the wind, Spain was a good opportunity to wear this Forever 21 top and Primark skirt

June

This electric asos dress can only be worn on days when I'm not feeling bloated as it clings to my stomach but I love the print and got a few compliments on it. I think this is something that will stay in my wardrobe for years and I should get more wear out of it once I invest in some spanx

July

Here's the neon blazer again! These printed trousers from a local market were also a good buy and the New Look flatforms were a staple this summer. My top is from missguided and I've had it since last year

Stayed tuned for part 2 which I will post either this weekend or next week

Get on up, when you're down...

Most of my childhood took place in the 90s so it's a decade that represents happiness and nostalgia. I also love Christmas so the Big Reunion Christmas Party featuring 5ive, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, B*Witched, 911 and the Honeyz was my idea of a great night out! 5ive were definitely my favourite but Atomic Kitten were great too and I enjoyed being taken on a trip down memory lane by all of the bands. They have dedinitely still got it and were up to the standard of their hey day, with 911's Body shakin giving Miley Cyrus and her twerking a run for her money. Along with their own hits they sang a Christmas song each which helped me get into the spirit. We were quite far away from the stage and my camera doesn't have the best zoom lens but here are some pictures from the night

A Taste of Spring

It may not even be Christmas yet but spending last weekend in Spain and feeling the sun on my skin made it feel like Spring for a few days. Now my season clock is slightly messed up and it'll take a few more days for me to reacclimatise to the British winter but it was nice to have a short break from it. The warmer weather allowed me to wear some pieces that it's currently to chilly to wear and now I'm back in chilly Blighty I plan to stash them away until Spring when pastels will still be going strong

I love these salmon pink skinny cigarette trousers which were £30 from Topshop and are so comfortable.(well they will be once I lose my winter flab and can fasten them properly!) This classic lace sleeve top was around £20 from Missguided and the flattering A-line shape is great for hiding a muffin top. The shoes are also from Missguided and I bought them in the summer but haven't worn them out yet.

This grey draped top was another missguided bargain which cost less than £20. I wore it with my PVC panel skirt which I got in the asos sale for £19. Please excuse the lack of make-up in the pictures. I ended up having them taken on our last day when I was giving my skin a break and a chance to catch a few rays

December Sun

Living in England, warm sunshine isn't something that I usually experience at this time of year so feeling the heat on my skin in Spain was a welcome change. The bf and I only spent 4 days out there visiting my grandparents but it was a nice break. They also decorated the house to make it look festive which felt very strange seeing as it was so warm outside. Here is my mini holiday in pictures...

As the lighting was so good my boyfriend took some photos of me wearing a couple of outfits so keep your eyes peeled for some outfit posts very soon

In Holiday Mode

I'm excited and nervous because I'm off to Spain to see my grandparents tomorrow! I always feel anxious when travelling in case I miss the flight or something else goes wrong. Does anyone else feel like that or is it just me? I've been feeling quite stressed with work lately so it'll be nice to have a, albeit short break. I'm back on Monday and I'll probably post about my holiday outfits as its warmer there so not do much wrapping up warm! It will be lovely to see my grandparents who I haven't seen since May and give my nan a hug as one of her dogs is really ill. I will miss twitter, Instagram and blogging but it'll probably do me good to have a break and catch up on some reading.

Our flight is at 7am which means I have be up before 3am so early night fir me tonight. Have a good weekend and I'll be back very soon. I've included a picture of my suitcase and the small space I've left is for my boyfriend's stuff! Just hope it fits, unfortunately I'm not the type of girl who travels light

London Bloggers Lunch, November 2013

Yesterday I attended the London Bloggers Lunch organised by the Lovely Angharad and Banke and enjoyed catching up with some friendly bloggers whilst scoffing pizza. I got some great tips from them and I definitely need to spend more time on my pictures and bring them up to a higher standard. I never use editing programmes and I only crop pictures as I want to create a sense of reality and say this is me, worts and all with no airbrushing. I just feel bad asking my boyfriend and family members to take endless pictures and I don't have that many poses in my repetoire. I'm not exactly model material! Anyway, despite feeling down about the quality of my blog photos I had a fab time and it flew by as time always does when you're having fun. Here are some pictures from the day, courtesy of Banke

The bloggers who I had the chance to speak to were Emma, Sophie, Laura, Helen, Anna, Kimberley, Adela, Mary Desola and LiLi who were all lovely. I'm sorry to those who I didn't get the chance to chat to, hopefully next time

Here is what I wore...

Coat: Topshop, £89. Top: M&S, £30, Trousers: Forever 21, £17. Boots: Linzi, £35. Bag: Zara, £40
