Company Bloggers Style the High Street 2014

Company events never disappoint and I was in fashion heaven last night at the Bloggers style the high street event in association with Impulse. The fashion show, hosted by the lovely Lilah Parsons was great entertainment and we were treated to a performance by the very talented Nina Nesbitt. It was the perfect place to outfit watch and chat to fellow bloggers and fashion fans. It was definitely one of the best nights out that I've had this year. The dress code was dress to impress and you can't beat sequins to add a touch of glamour so I opted for this very disco top from New Look (£35) with PVC trousers from Topshop.(£35) My fluffy bag and shoes are also from New Look as there's a store near my work which I visit most weeks!

I took 82 pictures and found it really hard to narrow down my favourite outfits but here are some of the best looks from the show.

This stylish ensemble by Next was styled by Cocos Tea Party and would also work with tights when the weather gets chillier

This pretty party dress is by Yumi styled by the Golden Diamonds

This every day outfit with a tough of luxe is from Primark styled by Hannah Louise F

I love leopard print and this look from M&S styled by EJStyle would be great for post work drinks

This outfit is also from M&S and I love the mix of tailored and causal

This gothic style dress is from River island, styled by She Wears Fashion and it would be perfect for a halloween party

I'm drawn to this Yumi two piece as I love anything shiny!

This Leopard co-ord from Warehouse styled by the Little Magpie can be dressed up or down for any occasion

Asos styled by Pages by Megan just pipped it as my favourite collection as these green iridescent and gold sequin beauties appeal to my inner magpie

I love the blanket coat and ripped jeans combo by River Island styled by She Wears Fashion

I also got to share a table with some lovely bloggers such as @AisSays, @shivonmakeupbiz, @smileatstyle and @courtzmelv

Lush Mini Halloween Haul

I'm obsessed with Lush and I particularly love the seasonal items that you can only get at certain times of the year. Recently I picked up some Halloween bath treats that make bath time that bit more special and exciting

This sparkling pumpkin bubble bar makes loads of soft pumpkin scented bubbles and glittering bath water. I've only used half so plan to use the other half on Halloween itself

This Sparkler bath bomb really does make your bath water sparkle and smells of rose

This shimmery wizard bubble bar is perfect to relax and unwind with on a chilly Autumn night. I plan to go back to Lush on Friday and stock up so expect another haul soon!

Hello Brunette

I'm naturally fair and I've been blonde for a while now so I decided that it's time for a change. I've also been feeling very anxious and down lately for various reasons and felt like I needed a pick me up so a trip to the salon today was much needed. I opted for lowlights in two different shades of brown which I've had before but last time I broke it up with some blonde highlights. It came out darker than I thought and I haven't been this dark since my teens but I really like it! I know that my nan will hate it but she only likes me blonde and you can't please everyone!

I went to Hair E14 on the Isle Dogs which I go to regularly as it's so reasonable and all the stylists are lovely and great to talk to. Outfit wise I went for a red and black theme with a tartan dress from Primark (last winter) and coat, fluffy cardigan and boots from New Look

The Big Reunion Boybands tour 2014

For a blogger I'm at the mature end of the spectrum as I grew up in the 90s and started secondary school in 1998. Around this time boy bands such as 5ive and 911 were going strong and a couple of years later blue burst onto the pop scene. I used to sing along to their songs, recording my favourites off the radio onto a cassette (yes, I really am that old!) and enjoy reading about them in Smash Hits magazine which sometimes came with free stickers of popstar's faces that I'd stick all over my diary or photo albums.  So imagine my delight when my friend Vicki told me about the Big Reunion Boyband tour featuring 5ive, Blue, Damage, A1, 911, 3T and 5th story which is a group made up of Dane Bowers, Gareth Gates, Kenzie, Adam Rickett and Kavanagh. It was a fab night full of trips down memory lane via 90s/early 00s pop and the accompanying dance moves

We had pretty good seats but it was still difficult to get some decent close up shots which was a shame. it was such a good atmosphere though, with everyone singing along and dancing. As Simon Webbe was on strictly Bradley MacIntosh from S club 7 stepped in to sing his parts and he was great! All of the acts were very talented, especially Damage who were flawless.

I decided to wear this Topshop lightening bolt top which I've had for a few years and a wool kilt which my mum got me for Christmas from Edinburgh as the whole look has a bit of a 90s feel. Now I'm just hoping that ITV2 do another series of the Big Reunion featuring S Club 7 amongst others!

Salute

The Military trend is big news this season and it's a great look for both work and play. I bought this jumper in Uniqlo last winter but khaki shades are all over the high street so it shouldn't be too difficult to find something similar. Next have a couple of khaki knits in store at the moment so it's a good place to start. The skirt was from a local market but I know that Forever 21 currently have some nice midi skirts to choose from as I picked up a black one a couple of weeks ago

Please excuse the state of my make up, most of which has rubbed off! I'd been to work all day but didn't get the chance to have my picture taken until the evening. The joys of full time work!

Wild Thing

I've always loved animal print so I couldn't resist this Safari satin scarf from Silver Sparrow. There are a variety of classic and fashionable prints to choose from and each scarf is handcrafted. The fabric feels really soft against your skin stitching is immaculate and barely visible. I wore the scarf yesterday to brighten up a white slogan T-shirt and keep my neck warm against the Autumn chill

The scarf was delicately wrapped in green tissue paper so it would also make a good present

It's such a versatile accessory and it'll go with everything so I should get plenty of wear out of it throughout Autumn and Winter

Make A Statement

Statement necklaces are perfect to update a plain top or dress, make old outfits new season ready or to dress up more casual outfits so I love these gorgeous pieces from new jewellery boutique AURA. (AURALDN.co.uk)

I'm drawn to anything with a punky edge so I love spiky jewellery! These studded beauties in classic silver will toughen up any outfit. It's difficult to pick but I'd say that this was my favourite necklace from the collection

The intricate design of the piece on the left is very sophisticated and would be ideal for work or a dressy event. The stag necklace on the right reminds me of Christmas and would look great with a sequinned dress or Christmas jumper

Another spiky piece of neck candy! I love the mixture of gold and silver and this will add sparkle to your chosen ensemble.

The website is launching tomorrow so make sure you follow @AURALDN on Twitter

LDN Blogger Meet Up on 4th October 2014

Blogger meet ups are one of my favourite days out and although it can be daunting at first, a shared love of fashion, beauty and cake helps you quickly form a bond with your fellow bloggers. Saturday's meet up in B-Soho was no exception. It was organised by the lovely Lola and we spent 3 hours getting to know each other over cocktails and food. I normally get lost and arrive late to meet ups, squeezing in wherever there is space and missing the initial introductions but this time I made sure I arrived early so I didn't miss out. It pretty much rained all day and my outfit was completely inappropriate for the weather but I had a great time!

In hindsight I definitely should have worn tights with this outfit as I had chilly thighs all day! I was attempting a Clueless vibe but not sure if it really worked. Anyway, The crop top is from Topshop (£22) The shirt was around £23 from New Look and the skirt was  George at asda buy last Winter. I've had the socks for so long that I can't actually remember where they're from. I spent most of the day talking to Courtney, Kenzie, Shivon, Hannah, Jasmin, Nicola and Jess but it was lovely to meet the other girls too. I wish I got to chat to everyone properly but hopefully I'll get to see them all again at another blogger event

Lola organised a tombola so everyone went home with a little present which was a lovely idea! My present was a notebook from Shivon which I actually used to plan this post so it went to good use.

                                                                   Kirsty and Jess

                                                           Kirsty and Mimi

Lola has created a Twitter account for future blogger meet ups so make sure you follow @LDNBlogMeetUp to be in the loop

In the Shade

Winter may be approaching but there are always opportunities to slip on a pair of sunglasses, particularly on those crisp but bright winter days. I love these sunglasses from Sunnies of London (sunniesoflondon.com) as they're both classic and innovative and a bit different from the norm. The brand was founded in London and each pair of shades is handcrafted using the highest quality bamboo. At £69 a pair they are great value for such quality luxury eyewear

My favourite style is the 'Belgrave' above which would look great with ripped jeans, a white shirt and a camel coat on those sunny but chilly days.
