Boost your Colour Confidence with Dove

I don't know about you but I've always been fairly confident with wearing colour and love any excuse to rock brights and pastels but according to the Dove Colour Confidence Poll 48% of UK women wear only two colours per day, with 33% playing it safe with black, grey or other dark colours. (Research conducted by OnePoll amongst 2,000 British women in May 2014)

Dove want to change this and have teamed up with colour psychology expert Karen Haller and Fashion designer Olivia Rubin to encourage women to embrace more colour in their everyday closing choices. There are running a competition throughout June called the Dove Colour Challenge where three lucky winners will win a colour consulation with Karen where she will diagnose the colours to boost their confidence and bring out the best in them along with a bespoke capsule collection designed by Olivia Rubin to reflect those colours. This is definitely a competition that I will be entering. Visit dove.com/colourconfidence to enter.
The event to launch to competition and Dove's product in which goes hand in hand with the campaign was held at the very colourful and luxurious Schiaparelli Suite in the May Fair hotel

I was in my element being surrounded by bright colours, sweets and macaroons! Hopefully the challenge will inspire people to inject more colour into their wardrobes. To accompany your new found colour confidence you need an Anti-Perspirant that doesn't leave any pesky white marks. That's where Dove's Invisible dry comes in. I've tried it myself and can honestly say that no marks have been left on any of my clothes, whatever the colour!

Sunshine, rain and mud at We Are Festival

Saturday was a funny day for weather and typically it was the day I was going to a festival, out in the open in the middle of an airfield. Despite the rain me and my friend Rachel still had a great time and although I had chilly thighs for most of the day my outfit was quite well suited to the changeable weather. Wellies were a must for trudging through the mud and you can't go wrong with classic short hunters in timeless khaki/olive green

Please ignore the abandoned chips that sneaked in the shot. (oh the glamour) I picked up this bright, floral top from New Look last week and it was around £17. The shorts were £16 from Forever 21 and I've had the Topshop parka for a few years now. There was a stall which did face painting so we had our faces decorated by two lovely ladies and people kept stopping us to ask where we'd got it done. It lasted all day and I actually felt sad when it came to removing it before bedtime

Short Hair, Don't Care

On Saturday I decided to go for the chop and get a few inches taken off my hair. It's the shortest I've had it since I was 19 but it's nearly Summer and bobs are in so I thought what the hell! I went to a salon on the Isle of Dogs called Hair E14 which is great value and all the stylists are lovely there. I asked for a long bob and a high-lift tint with honey and clear blonde to brighten me up a bit. I felt much better afterwards and it was worth the 3 hours spent in the salon as it feels thicker, brighter and in better condition than ever

As it was a warm (if muggy) day on Saturday I decided to get my shins and arms out! My lace top is from Dorothy Perkins (£14) and the skirt was £25 from Monki. I've had my good old Birkenstocks for years so I'm glad they're back in fashion

Pretty in Pixi

Pixi is a brand that's a favourite amongst bloggers and I've always been a fan. I love the mint green packaging and high quality products, especially the on trend nail polishes. On Thursday I was lucky enough to attend the latest Pixi press event in the Foubert's Place store. I arrived all sweaty and dishevelled from the tube and was greeted by a cold drink and two mini cupcakes whilst top make-up artist Amanda Bell talked us through the latest products

Here are some of my favourites...

The lovely Amanda also offered to work her magic on my face which was an offer I couldn't refuse! I was really pleased with the result and she transformed me from sweaty mess to fresh and glowing

Part Time Sunshine

The UK weather has been rather dismal lately so it was lovely to get away for the weekend to Spain, visiting my grandparents and enjoying the sunshine. It was a really relaxing break and I mostly just sat in the garden but I still took the opportunity to wear a couple of summer outfits

Smocks Rock

Smock dresses are a firm favourite amongst bloggers and I'm no exception. I ordered this denim beauty from boohoo.com a couple of weeks ago and it's so comfortable and flattering. I'll definitely wear it lots this summer. It can also be worn with tights on chilly days so it's pretty versatile

Grease is the Word

The 50's is one of my favourite fashion decades. I love the flattering full skirts, prom dresses and shirts that tie at the waist and they seem to suit my figure which is quite short and bigger around the stomach and area than the rest of my body. When I saw the pastel coloured full midi skirts in Primark (£14) I made a beeline for them and snapped up one in sky blue (below) and in lemon yellow too! I didn't even know that Grease 2 was on TV yesterday but I must've subconsciously took inspiration from it with my 50's style outfit.

My top and shoes are from New Look and my jacket is from The Sting. I wore them to visit my grandparents yesterday. Does anyone else's nan tell them that they've put on weight whilst trying to feed them profiteroles?

Bank Holiday Blooms

Yesterday morning I made an unexpected and last minute trip to Primark where I picked up a few Summery pieces including the shirt (£12) and cropped trousers (around £10)  below. The blazer is also from Primark but was bought last year and my holographic sandals are from boohoo.com. At weekends I often find myself all dressed up with nowhere to go so I dragged the bf to Royal China in Canary Wharf for a nice meal. Most of my weekends do tend to revolve around food!
