Sadly, I managed to ladder my tights before I left the house and had to swap them for a plain pair. My shirt is from own the runway, my skirt is from Zara (a few years old) and my belt is from Topshop (last year) My leopard print pumps are really old and from Dorothy Perkins

That awkward transitional period
It looks like summer is making a temporary return but as all fashion victims know, it's already time to start wearing some of the new autumn/winter trends. With this in mind, for drinks with a friend last night I decided to go for classic black and white with a hint of my favourite embellishment, studs.

Modern Mullet
I have been waiting all 'summer' to wear my topshop pastel pleated mullet skirt and finally got the opportunity on Sunday for my friend's daughter's baptism. It was a nice warm day with a bit of a breeze so perfect for this outfit
My top is from Forever 21 and this was the first time I got to wear that too. (The joys of British summertime)
I'm sorry about the state of the garden, the grass could do with mowing and don't you just hate it when you put on make-up and fake tan and it doesn't show up in the photo so you look pale and unglamorous?

Caught off guard
I went out for drinks straight after work on Friday night and these pictures were taken around 8pm, after 3 hours of drinking (hence the 'wine stare') so they aren't the most flattering but I wanted to blog about my outfit.
The top is from New Looks fantastic AW collection and it was only £16.99. It is so comfortable but also on trend and the red belt is a nice detail.
This photo shows more of my M&S skirt (£25) but I was saying thanks to a nice man who was waiting to walk past whilst I had my picture taken and was caught at the wrong moment!

Stud U Like
As you may know, my favourite embelishment has to be studs. I love pieces that are a bit edgy and rock chick with a nod to punk and studs seem to create that look.
I read about own the runway in magazines so decided to have a nosy and I found some real bargains. I bought the studded collar shirt in both black and white as I can imagine getting plenty of wear out of them. At £22.99 they are cheaper than similar versions sold in well-known high street shops. The only downside is that the studs only cover the front of the collar and don't go around the back but they still look great

New season sneak peak
I don't know about you, but I always get really excited when the new season collections arrive on my favourite websites and in my favourite stores and Motel's AW collection does not disappoint.
There are some fab pieces available to buy now but two of my favourites are pictured below

A girl can never have too many LBDs and this black long sleeved bodycon dress with panelling detail is bang on trend this Autumn
I must admit, having a stomach that is a far cry from that of Frankie Sandford I have never been a fan of bra tops but I might just give the trend a go with this floral number. I can always throw a blazer over it to disguise my muffin top. The skirt is very versatile though and I can definitely see myself wearing it often. Make sure you have a nose at motelrocks.com to see the other amazing pieces.

Is age nothing but a number?
I started blogging towards the end of 2010 after my nan encouraged me to try it. I wish I had done it sooner but it was finding the time and I felt like my writing wasn't good enough. Nowadays the internet is saturated with fashion and beauty bloggers so standing out and creating something different is becoming increasingly difficult.
Since I left school it has been my dream to work on a consumer magazine as a fashion writer but recent events have forced me to put that dream on hold, possibly forever. I'm 25 now and don't have much experience on magazines. When I was at uni I was too naive and lacking in confidence to put myself out there and look for placements. I'm still not the most confident, outgoing person even now and I get shy in front of new people or people I don't know that well so I have to be realistic. Employers are going to choose a confident 20 year old with lots of relevant experience, rather than a shy 25 year old who has only worked for 2 different publishers
Therefore, I currently work in insurance which is where I have the most experience. I'm not living my dreams but I'm not exactly unhappy in my job and it allows me to shop for some of the latest trends come payday so who am I to complain? I also still blog when I can because it is what I love to do.
Are any other bloggers out there in a similar situation? Do you think age and confidence are important in this industry? I would love to read your comments

Wet at Wireless
I endured rain, mud, crowds and hailstones yesterday all to be at one of the most fashionable events of the year and to see two of my favourite artists, Rihanna and Jessie J. My cold is now worse and my voice is showing no signs of coming back but it was worth it! Pitbull who was joined by Ne-yo (great surprise!) and Labrinth were also highlights
I love how at festivals you can wear what you wouldn't normally get away with on the street. My multi coloured dip dyed shorts from motel are a good example of this and I felt like I had gone back to the carefree days of the 90s when I slipped them on

My peace top is from Rev UK, (£6) the parka is from Topshop (£48) and my tights are from Next. Did anyone else go to Wireless this weekend? What did you think and more importantly, what did you wear?
