Yellow Fever

I'm loving this warmer weather and all the sunshine so it's great when I get to reflect the weather in my clothes. With this in mind, I went out for drinks on Friday night and wore a yellow H&M dress that I bought last summer (it's all about outfit recycling when you can)

My polkadot tights are from accessorize and my earrings are also from H&M. I love feather earrings but always find that a piece breaks off one of them making them look very asymmetrical. So annoying!

I Heart the 50's

As the weather has been warming up and there's been no need for a coat (yay!) I decided to wear a cute, thin jumper with a pair of bright jeans yesterday for a flying visit to Westfield. I thought the look was a bit 1950's style, hence the title. I've always carried weight around my stomach and normally have a substantial muffin top but lately, thanks to lots of walking and stress at work it seems to be shrinking. I'm so glad I can finally wear jeans and fitted tops without looking like I have a bun in the oven.

Pretty in pastels

For the first time in over a month I met up with some friends last night and went for a few drinks. I was ready for bed by 11 (must be getting old) but I had a really nice night and it was good to catch up with some good mates. Even though it was very chilly last night I decided to go for a full-on summery pastel look and get some wear out of my recent bargains (see my post 'My recent purchases') The blazer is from Primark (£15) and the jeans & top are from H&M (£15 and £20)

I think I may need to invest in a new camera soon as the quality isn't that great. I always get a photo taken before I go out and the elements mess up my hair and make-up but unfortunately my house doesn't provide the widest choice of backdrops so I usually end up standing in front of the bathroom door

The eyes have it

I like to be a bit adventurous with my make-up and wear the trends on my face, so for a cinema and Nando's trip yesterday I decided to go for a two-tone pastel eyeshadow look. I bought the shadows from 17 at Boots last year. The yellow and green come in a palette called dolly mixture with a pink shade. Here is the result:

I had to load my lashes up with mascara as the pastel shadow clinged to my already light lashes and made them look barely there

I don't know about you but the colours just make me long for a beach with pale sand and turquoise water...

My Recent Purchases

I had a mini spend up today for the first time in ages and it's definitely boosted my mood. I shopped around for the best prices and came away with some real bargains. Sorry if it's all a bit sickly sweet, I've definitely indulged in satisfying my obsession with pastels!

This Primark jacket is my favourite. At £15 it was the cheapest of all the mint green blazers I looked at and also one of the nicest

The monocrome top underneath was around £8 and is also from Primark.

I LOVE the ice blue colour of these £14.99 H&M jeans. I also have them in pink and they are a great fit for the price and also very comfortable

Here's another mint green marvel from Primark which cost £12. I like the girly bows on the cuffs

I spotted this shimmery top in H&M and just had to have it as I'm drawn to all things shiny. At £19.99 it's a great price for something I'll wear often this season

This baby pink bag is all the arm candy I'll need this summer and at only £12 I'm considering revisiting Primark and purchasing the mint green version too

I also tried on some lilac slipper shoes in New Look but as I have lanky feet there was an unflattering gape! Does anyone else have this problem with shoes?

Bloggers, food and alcohol

I went to the #ldnlunch yesterday and met some lovely ladies who share my passion for blogging about things they love. I had a really nice day and enjoyed chatting about clothes, shoes, bags and hair for most of it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to talk to all of the girls but I'm hoping to get to know more of them at the next meet up. I decided to go for a clashing pastel look so I wore my favourite bubblegum pink H&M jeans (£14.99) with a cornflower blue peter pan collar top from missguided (£16.99)

On reflection, the white top underneath didn't look too great but in my defence I didn't have time to go out shopping and buy a blue top beforehand. All the girls were so stylish and friendly so I'm really looking forward to the next event.

As you can see, there is a small water mark on my jeans in the first picture. This is because I managed to drop argan oil on them whilst doing my hair but I didn't want to wear anything else so I was hoping no-one would notice. Welcome to my glamorous life!
