Company Magazine Blogging Forum

Company is currently the only magazine that is very supportive of bloggers and features them heavily in the content of the magazine. Company is always such an aspirational, creative and inspirational read so as soon as I heard about the latest blogging forum I had to get involved! It was very interesting and informative with some invaluable advice from the Editor Victoria White, bloggers Susie Bubble and Rihannon from Fashion Rocks my socks, along with Krista from Handpicked Media, Sally from Ohmylove and Roxanne from boohoo

The main advice I've taken away from the panel is to work on my blog design, post more often and vary my posts which have been a bit heavy on the outfit posts side recently. I plan to find a designer to sort out my layout, design an eye-catching title and add a bit of interest to my blog so if that sounds like something you can do at a reasonable price please get in touch!

It was also a good opportunity to catch up with my uni friend Gioia, who I haven't seen for about 4 years since leaving uni and I also met some lovely fellow bloggers including the very stylish Lucy (below)

I rushed to the event via Burger King straight from work so I felt that my outfit could have done with a few tweaks but lesson learned! I wore a Matalan blazer with Warehouse Trousers, a top from Lavish Alice and New Look shoes

We also received a goodie bag with treats such as Yuko leave in conditioner, (which smells amazing) A Temperley organizer and some yummy snacks.

Some girls from Candy Kittens were also on hand providing delicious lollipops with fun slogans. I tucked into mine as soon as I got home and it was very enjoyable to say the least, which pretty much sums up the night

Zara & Victoria's Secret Sale Haul

So, I vowed not to buy any more summer clothes apart from festival wear but the temptation of the sales forced me to break that promise!

There has been quite a hype over the Zara sale which started today and the Westfield Stratford branch was pretty manic so it wasn't easy to look through everything but I picked up a few pieces. The discounts are roughly £10 at the moment so you're not exactly getting a bargain but it has levelled the items to prices that I'm more willing to pay for them.

I've wanted this quilted, jewel collar top for a while and it was reduced from £39.99 to £29.99 which was the perfect excuse to snap it up. The only problem is I can imagine wearing it once, getting all sweaty then not being able to put it in the washing machine and never getting around to hand washing or dry cleaning it just like the other hand wash or dry clean only items in my wardrobe

I love the print of these trousers and the style is usually so comfortable. They were reduced from £29.99 to £22.99 so not much of a reduction but I really like the trousers and under £25 isn't bad.

I picked up these beauties whilst waiting in the (very long) queue for the till. I love the different coloured studs, especially the neon ones

This bag is very me; roomy and studded and reduced from £69.99 to £39.99. It's also real suede which makes it even better value

After emptying my purse in Zara I planned to avoid more shopping but then I walked past Victoria's secret. I have always been a fan of their cotton knickers in cute colours and prints so I bought 5 pairs and I also wanted a pair of tracksuit bottoms (mostly for around the house or when I eventually start going to the gym) so I picked up a pair for £19.50, reduced from £42

Have any of you grabbed any bargains in the sales recently?

She's Electric

I bought this midi dress from asos a few months ago as I love the print. It reminds me of jellyfish and the colours look good together. I got lots of compliments on it last night when I went out for a few drinks with friends. It cost £30 which I think is quite good value for a decent quality dress and the fabric is so soft and comfortable. My ankle boots are from New Look and are also pretty comfortable. I do like to be practical!

Feeling Floral

These pictures we obviously taken when the sun was still shining. What's happened to Summer eh?
I should have got a picture of the back but definitely plan to wear this Bomber jacket from Boohoo.com again soon.
I'm also wearing my very comfortable New Look jeans and a iridescent top from H&M bought last year. I wore this on Saturday to meet a friend for lunch. I think this was the last nice day we had in London but let's just hope that's not the last of the nice weather for this year

A Stifled Creative In A Corporate World

I've probably mentioned it before, but rather than having a creative fashion or writing related job, I actually work in insurance. It's the area I have the most experience in and the only type of job I could get but I hold out hope that one day I will be closer to my dream job. It's just hard when so many obstacles get in the way and I'm not getting any younger!

I still let my personal style shine through at work even though I'm somewhat restricted. I'd love to be more casual some days and wear jeans and converse but sadly the dress code doesn't allow it. Luckily, I like the tailored look but I put my stamp on it with bright colours, prints and different textures. On Thursday I wore the outfit below

My blazer is from a local market, my shirt is from missguided and my trousers are from Primark (£16)
How do you put your own stamp on your work wear?

I'm Blue, da ba de da ba da

I'm sorry for the terribly immature blog title. I thought it may bring back some memories for older bloggers who were born before the 90s! This song came out when I was about 12 and was revived in the recent Iron Man 3 film which shows that they definitely don't make songs like they used to! ;-)

Blue is one of those colours that I love to wear and paint my nails with. It's just so peaceful and evokes thoughts of sitting by a swimming pool sipping cocktails when you're really squashed on a train next to someone with B.O issues or waiting in a queue to buy your overpriced lunch.

This skirt was a bargainous £5 from a local market and I just love the colour. The side splits are also nice to get a bit of air to your thighs but I wouldn't recommend wearing this on a rainy day like I did! My top and necklace are from New Look, my sandals were bought last year from boohoo and my bag is from Primark.

Summer Knits

As all of you who live in the UK know, 'Summer' can include wind, rain, a chilly breeze and general weather misery so the typical summer wardrobe is never enough. I'm sure we had better summers when I was a kid and didn't need so many jumpers and coats but that's global warming for you. Yes, I know I sound old.

Anyway, an essential part of any girl's summer wardrobe has to be a fine knit, preferably in a bright or pastel, summery colour. I own a few summer knits but my favourite has to be the H&M one below, which only cost £7.99 and is a coral neon colour. Neon seems to make my whole body do a little dance and believe me, this really is something as everyone who knows me will tell you I rarely dance and tend to shuffle around self-consciously on the dance floor before giving up and looking at my phone instead. Well, you get the picture, I LOVE neon

I wore my jumper over a neon T-Shirt from H&M (£6.99) and with my lace print Kelly Brook for New Look jeans which were a Christmas present and next pumps (around £30) I have no idea what I'm going to do with all my neon pieces when it goes out of fashion
